Council Meeting Notes: October 12th, 2008
 
Overview of Parent Meeting
Went over 5 purposes
Discussed how we had struggled for a while after the graduating class 4 years ago took 15 teens.
We are really being blessed now.  We have 40 teenagers in our teen group.
 
Curriculum Update
Sunday School:  Stewardship for Junior and Senior High
Wed. nights: HABITS
 
Discussed breakfast bar in detail.  Approved to present to board.
Goal is to start breakfast bar by Jan 2009.
 
Crosstrainer Connection will appear again, but probably on a monthly basis.
New Parent Newsletter (Parent Connect) will be starting and the Crosstrainers Connection (for teens) will be included in that monthly.
Newsletters will include devotionals, interesting stories, facts, monthly calendar. This can either be emailed to parents/teens or mailed.
 
Jean Palombo working on a teen directory.
 
Website information
Real answer to prayer: Brian Krummel is willing to run the teen website.
Please email pictures to Kelly so she can review and email to Brian.
 
Power Point announcments are being done by Josh Grimm. 
 
Events
Turkey Bowl:
Probably going to be moved to November 16th after Ministry Teams.
Ministry teams would be early.  Praise band at 4pm.  Drama at 5pm.  Turkey bowl from 6pm-9pm.
 
Christmas Banquet:
Still need to firm up a date:  December 12th,13th, or 20th
Jen Verwer has agreed to coordinate the banquet and she has agreed to cook for it as well.  YEAH JEN!!!

Caroling: December 17th

Mission Trip:  Voted to switch mission trip from orlando to Texas/New Orleans.

Snurch at Derek and Jessica's, Ministry Teams, Praise band auditions: October 19th
 
Teens will be raking leaves this year with their prayer partners.  Need to set up date.
 
November Event:  Father/Son, Mother/Daughter event
