Teen Council
Council Meeting Notes: December 14th, 2008

Christmas Banquet:
discussed who will be performing as well as order of program. A good variety of teens involved.Set up will be Saturday at 5pm.
Funapalooza:
Discussed should we have it till 12:30 am instead of all night. Many people are going to be away who want to come. Should we think about a lock in on another night? We need more parental volunteers for chaperoning the lock in. Will send out email. Council supposed to bring suggested dates next council meeting for upcoming lock in.
Teen Retreat:
Discussed who would be the speaker? Jean Palombo, Jon Grimm recommended Darryl Robinson. All council agreed and were enthusiastic about this. Kelly Tatum will get approval from Pastor Culbertson and then ask him. Dates will be January 30-February 1st. Discussed district retreat and possibility of just attending that one (Jan 16-18). Many of our teens cannot attend due to conflicts. And is much more expensive.
Decision to post advertisement for district retreat, but not have it be our church’s only retreat. We will have out own retreat on January 30th. (Probably at the district center) Jon Grimm looking in to Camp Allegheny (Salvation Army camp) to see about cost.
Uncle Phil’s Diner
Possible performance date of May 20th. Have to look at church calendar. (Kelly will do this.)
Acquire the Fire:
May 8-9, Planning to attend. More information will be forthcoming.
Crosstrainers Café (revised)
Discussed need to not have weekly café due to cost of food being so high and also lack of time between Sunday school and church. Will propose to board tomorrow night doing monthly take-out dinners. This has made a good profit in the past as well as served members of the congregation. Can still make gift certificates for visitors, friends, etc ….This idea will be presented to church board on Monday. Chuck will report back to teen council.
Mission Trip Letter to businesses will be presented to church board on Monday for approval. Chuck will report back to teen council.
